Well, friends, after a little break, I'm back on plan. I basically got frustrated. My test results have been hard to read because there weren't big weight changes on my test days. The big moves were happening on the rest days and I think it's probably pretty normal not to have big losses two days in a row.
Combine that frustration with the super busy week I had last week, and it was just so easy to fall off the wagon. It all started with the anniversary party we had at the office. I ate a muffin and the world's best cookie cake, and had a Coke on account of the migraine I had that day. I went home and was in too much pain to eat, so I took meds and crashed. When I woke up I was hungry, but didn't have the strength to fix anything so I ate potato chips for dinner. The road to hell...
Friday I kinda tried in that I had Plan meals for breakfast and lunch, but the leftover treats called my name during the afternoon meeting, so I had some. Then I had planned pizza for dinner as I had my neighbors over as a little farewell shindig for Shelley and Dana (who were moving.)
My body didn't like Friday at all. I woke up in the middle of the night, sweating and puking. It was awful. I wish I knew if it was the pizza or the combination of that, beer, and the sweets at the office. Who knows.
Saturday I traveled to Tennessee to visit family. Breakfast was a bowl of cereal, a chicken salad sandwich for lunch with cole slaw, and steak with a baked potato and salad for dinner. It didn't sound so bad, but all of it was untested. Oh...and M&M's. Yeah.
Sunday was a mess too. I was starving at breakfast and couldn't seem to get enough cereal. For lunch we went out and I had a stromboli, then ate the leftovers for dinner.
Ever wonder what four days off plan looks like?
It looks like a 5.5 lbs gain.
That's what.
Holy cow!
I'm pretty sure it as the pizza and stromboli since they both made me feel like crap.
I decided to start over on day one. I really need some test results that expand my food options. I didn't feel like moving forward from day 14 was very constructive since all the menus at that point call for food that haven't tested well.
So, here I am. Back "on plan."
Life hasn't gotten any less busy, I'm just planning for it. Yesterday Lindsey had a soccer game, so I ate dinner at the game.
It's kinda weird having dinner on the soccer field. It's not eating there that's weird, it's that I'm eating healthy food.
Most people who eat at the games are bringing fast food with them. I haven't seen other parents pack food from home...ever.
Is fast food that much a part of people's lives? I don't get it because I haven't eaten fast food on a regular basis for years. It's part a health issue, and part a money issue. I could have paid 5 bucks for processed crap, or just brought my dinner from home.
I'll admit dinner is never that hot by the time I get to the field. I warm it up at the office and put it in my cooler. But after a 30 minute drive to the soccer field, it's just "not cold", at best.
That doesn't really bother me though. I know I'm doing the right thing for my body.
Check out how it went on day 1!
1.6 lbs gone! Woo hoo!
I'm glad I got back on plan!
